Run the site
by plot.

Plotbook is job management for trades — every plot, every snag, every sign-off in one place. Organised the way the site is.

No public sign-up. We onboard one company at a time.

The problem

A job spread across ten places isn't a job. It's a guess.

Photos in WhatsApp. Snags on a clipboard. The schedule in someone's head. When a developer asks "is Plot 12 signed off?", the honest answer is usually "let me find out."

The usual way
  • BEFORE/AFTER photos lost in three group chats
  • Snags on paper that never make it back to the desk
  • Two trades booked into the same plot on the same day
  • "Who's on site right now?" — nobody actually knows
The Plotbook way
  • Every photo pinned to its task, BEFORE and AFTER
  • Raise a snag on site; it's on the desk before you've packed up
  • Clashes flagged the moment they're booked
  • Check-ins show who's on site, plot by plot

How it works

The plot is the unit of work.

Plotbook follows the site's own structure. A customer has sites; a site has plots; a plot has areas; an area has tasks — each with its own BEFORE/AFTER evidence. Find anything by where it actually is.

Level 01

Customer

Hartley Homes, Crest Living — the developer you're working for.

Level 02

Site

Pemberton Fields. The development, with all its plots.

The unit · P-012

Plot

A 3-bed semi. Live, blocked, snagging or signed off — at a glance.

Level 04

Area

Kitchen, hallway, bedroom 2 — the room being worked.

Level 05

Task

Second-fix electrical, two coats emulsion — with photos and a sign-off.

Two apps · one job

Different cabs on the same van.

The desk runs the office portal. The trades run the field app — sparky, plumber, plasterer, painter, the lot. Same plots, same snags, same truth, built for where each one stands.

Trades on site

Photos, check-ins and snags for every trade on the job — offline-first, big buttons for gloves and low light. Field density.

What's in the box

Everything the job needs. Nothing it doesn't.

Phase one is pure job management — no tenders, no billing, no financials getting in the way of the work.

Plots, at a glance

Every plot with a status that means something: live, blocked, snagging, signed off. Filter a whole site to what needs you today.

BEFORE / AFTER evidence

Trades capture proof per task on their phone. The desk sees both photos, pinned to the right plot and area — instant, never blurred.

Clash detection

Two trades, one plot, one day — Plotbook flags the clash the moment it's booked, before anyone drives across town for nothing.

Soft check-ins

"I'm here / I've left", logged per plot. No timesheets, no surveillance — just who's on which site right now.

Snags & sign-offs

Raise a snag and it re-opens the plot to snagging. Fix it, and sign the plot off. Past tense, on the record.

Offline-first field app

The site doesn't have signal and Plotbook doesn't pretend it does. Capture now, sync when there's bars. Free on the App Store and Google Play.

Questions

The honest answers.

Can I just sign up?
No — Plotbook is invite-only. We onboard one company at a time so the plots, sites and trades are set up properly before anyone touches a phone on site. Book a demo and we'll talk about your sites.
Does it work without signal on site?
Yes. The Field app is offline-first — photos, check-ins and snags are captured on the device and sync when there's a connection. Trades never wait on a loading spinner in a half-built house.
Is this another invoicing tool?
No. Phase one is pure job management — plots, areas, tasks, photos, snags and sign-offs. No tenders, no billing, no financials. It does one thing: tells you where every plot stands.
What do the trades actually carry?
Just their phone. Plotbook Field is a free download from the App Store and Google Play — big buttons, high contrast, built for gloves and low light. Sign in, see today's plots, capture, check in, done.
Who is it for?
Painting, decorating and trade companies running multiple sites across the UK and Ireland. If you think in plots and you're tired of chasing snags through WhatsApp, it's for you.
